Fly Fishing School & Lodging at Sunset Ranch
Learn to Fly Fish! Our schools are aimed at the beginner and novice fly fishers. The school's focus will be on the fundamentals of proper casting techniques, knot tying, and fly pattern identification. Lodging is at Sunset Ranch, 2.8 miles east of Pagosa Springs, CO, on U.S. Hwy. 160. The ranch is a 120-acre horse ranch with 3 vacation cabins, each with its unique features, and a bed & breakfast in the main ranch house. The ranch has a 5-acre lake surrounded by a meadow and cottonwood trees. The San Juan River runs through the ranch. Giving guests the experience to fish private access on ¾ of a mile of the river. Sample itinerary:
3 – day school
Day 1: Introduction to casting and knot tying on the waters at Sunset Ranch
Day 2: Wade fishing on Private Property on the Navajo River
Day 3: Float or wade fish on the “Quality Waters of the San Juan River”
Rate for School
3 Day School at Sunset Ranch includes:
3 nights at the Bed & Breakfast & 3 days of instruction.
All equipment, leaders, fly's, lunch, and transportation to fishing area's.
Not included: CO or NM fishing license or dinners.
$1,280 based on double occupancy plus tax on the lodging.
